Receiver Patrick Turner has been promoted from the Jets' practice squad to their 53-man roster, the team announced today. The Jets had an open spot after waiving safety Andrew Sendejo on Tuesday.
The team played Week 1 with just four healthy receivers on their roster: Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason and Jeremy Kerley. Logan Payne, who is recovering from surgery on a dislocated wrist, is still on the roster but weeks away from playing. The team also cut Mardy Gilyard, who had been claimed off waivers from St. Louis, on Friday.
Turner was on and off the Jets' practice squad last season, playing in five games.
The Jets also announced that they re-signed TE Josh Baker to their practice squad. The team promoted CB Isaiah Trufant to the active roster Saturday and cut LB Matthias Berning from the practice squad yesterday. After Turner's promotion, the Jets currently have two vacant spots on their practice squad.

The Jets worked out former Redskins/Eagles LB Chris Wilson yesterday, along with ex-Patriots LB Tully Banta-Cain. The Jets did not offer Wilson a contract, nor was one expected, according to a person with knowledge of the purpose of the visit. The Jets just wanted to put him through the paces and evaluate him, the person said.
That person requested anonymity because the Jets have not announced the visits.
Jets CB Darrelle Revis was miked for the Dallas game and footage will be featured on Versus Channel's new football show, "NFL Turning Point," airing Thursday night at 10 p.m.
