Tennessee 25 Vanderbilt 24
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Daniel Lincoln's 33-yard field goal with 2:46 left capped a 16-point fourth-quarter comeback and 19th-ranked Tennessee beat Vanderbilt 25-24. It's the Volunteers' second-largest come-from-behind win and keeps them in control of the SEC East race.
Erik Ainge (aynj) threw two TD passes to key the comeback.
The field goal redeemed Lincoln, who had missed an extra point and a 41-yard field goal attempt earlier.
A win next week against Kentucky and the Vols will tie Georgia for the SEC East crown and earn a matchup with currently top-ranked LSU in the conference's December 1st championship game. Tennessee owns the tiebreaker over the eighth-ranked Bulldogs.
The Volunteers are 5-2 in the SEC and 8-3 overall.
Vandy drops to 5-6 overall and 2-6 in SEC play.
