COL FB: Tennessee 52, Kentucky 50 (4 OT)
LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 24 Erik Ainge threw seven TD passes and a two-point conversion pass in the fourth overtime Saturday, propelling No. 19 Tennessee to a 52-50 win over Kentucky.
The victory gave the Vols a share of the SEC Eastern Division crown. Thanks to a tie-breaker win over Georgia in early October, Tennessee will play LSU in the SEC Championship game next Saturday.
The Vols started the fourth overtime backed up to the 40-yard line because of an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to Arian Foster for slamming the football down after coming up short on a two-point conversion attempt. But took just one play for Tennessee to score as a wide-open Quinton Hancock caught a touchdown pass. Austin Rogers caught a pass just over the goal line for the two-point conversion to make it 52-44.
Kentucky scored a touchdown on its possession but the Wildcats' two-point conversion try failed as Andre Woodson scrambled and had the ball knocked loose.
Erik Ainge completed 28 of 45 passes for 397 yards and Woodson was 39-of-62 for 430 yards with six touchdowns for the Wildcats.
