News: Jets Not Interested in Garcia
Hutch reported last night on NJ.com that with the release of Jeff Garcia, the Jets really aren’t all that interested in another 39 year old QB:
Quarterback Jeff Garcia is reportedly about to officially enter the free agent market but it appears unlikely the Jets will make a bid for him.
Garcia today told the St. Pete Times that he’ll be released. If so, he’ll be one of the most accomplished quarterbacks on the market.
The Jets, however, are leaning toward going with either Kellen Clemens or Brett Ratliff and want a veteran as an insurance policy and not a starter.
After the jerking around he’s dealt with in Tampa, Garcia might be looking for a place where he’s going to get a real shot to start and keep the job. It sounds like New York isn’t that place for Garcia.
