Thomasville Star QB Commits To Tennessee
Today is national signing day for college football and some local stars are signing with big time programs. Thomasville quarterback EJ Abrams-Ward committed to the University of Tennessee to play wide receiver. Ward was ranked number one in the state by the website, Rivals.com.
Ward said he chose the Vols because it puts him in the best position to accomplish his goal to play at the collegiate level in one of the best conferences in the nation. He said he hopes the opportunity will ultimately prepare him for the NFL.
Abrams-Ward chose Tennessee over the University of North Carolina.
Some other local commitments of note:
-- Northeast Guilford offensive lineman Michael Via signed with Virginia Tech.
-- Western Alamance running back/receiver Levon Curtis signed to play at Western Carolina.
